What is Mellow Safaris?
Mellow Safaris is a Nairobi-based Kenya and Tanzania safari specialist. We plan budget and mid-range itineraries around your dates, interests, and budget — you pack for it, we plan the rest. Hannah founded the company.
Which countries do you cover?
Kenya and Tanzania. We are based in Nairobi, Kenya and plan trips across both countries — from the Maasai Mara and Amboseli to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Zanzibar.
How does booking work?

What price range are your safaris?
We focus on budget and mid-range safaris — camping trips, comfortable lodge stays, and private 4x4 itineraries. Exact pricing depends on dates, party size, and accommodation level. Every package page shows a starting price per person sharing.
Can I customize an itinerary?
Yes. Every trip is built around your dates, budget, and pace — not a fixed package forced to fit you. Tell us what you want to see and we will suggest routes, lodges, and vehicles that make sense.
Is my safari protected?
Every safari includes flying-doctor evacuation cover. We work with AMREF for emergency medical evacuation, and are affiliated with TOSK (Tour Operators Society of Kenya), TRA (Tourism Regulatory Authority), and KWS (Kenya Wildlife Service).
Do you offer group or private safaris?
Both. Budget camping trips are often shared with other travellers to keep costs down. Mid-range and private itineraries are organised exclusively for your party.
When was Mellow Safaris established?
Est. 2018. We started operating locally in Kenya on a referral basis. We registered as a limited company in 2022, and fully re-established with this website in 2026.
What is the best time for a Kenya or Tanzania safari?
Kenya and Tanzania safaris run year-round. July to October is peak season for the Great Migration in the Mara and Serengeti. January to March offers excellent game viewing with fewer crowds. Coastal extensions to Zanzibar or Diani are best June to October and December to February.
